Here’s to Switzerland’s MS Tûranor PlanetSolar, which arrives today in New York City.
We’ve been excitedly awaiting its arrival after this first-of-its-kind catamaran set a new world speed record for a transatlantic crossing last month. PlanetSolar is currently traversing the entire world to illustrate the practical AND AMAZING uses of energy from the sun.
Now this global ̶ and floating ̶ ambassador for renewable energy (compliments of Swiss ingenuity and innovation) is here in the Big Apple to educate the local community on solar technology.
It’s fun to track the vessel by using Google Earth. Also, the crew uses their blog to chronicle their travels. You can read about meetings with locals who buzz about the “space” ship docking at their port. Plus you’ll find reports and pics of inclement weather that includes sightings of tornadoes.
So, let’s give a warm Empire State welcome to PlanetSolar!
